Changes in a Rhodic Hapludox under no-tillage and urban waste compost in the northwest of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Moraes,Moacir Tuzzin de; Silva,Vanderlei Rodrigues da; Cherubin,Maurício Roberto; Carlesso,Reimar; Debiasi,Henrique; Levien,Renato.
The use of urban waste compost as nutrient source in agriculture has been a subject of investigation in Brazil and elsewhere, although the effects on soil physical and chemical properties and processes are still poorly known. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of application of urban waste compost and mineral fertilizer on soil aggregate stability and organic carbon and total nitrogen content of a Rhodic Hapludox under no-tillage in the northwestern region of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in the 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 growing seasons. The experiment was arranged in a 2 × 6 (seasons and fertilization) factorial in a randomized complete block design with four replications. The factor time consisted of two growing seasons (sunflower in 2009/10 and...

Crop yield and nutrient balance influenced by shoot biomass management and pig slurry application AGRIAMBI
Pandolfo,Carla M.; Veiga,Milton da.
ABSTRACT Crop systems that export large amounts of nutrients from the farm may require higher doses of animal manure than those needed for grain production. This study aimed to evaluate the yield of crops and to determine the simplified nutrient balance in three management systems of shoot biomass of crops (cover-grain, cover-silage and hay-silage) associated with five fertilization treatments (control, soluble fertilizer and three doses of pig slurry). The experimental design was a split plot, arranged in randomized blocks with four replicates. The management systems of shoot biomass did not affect the yield of the winter pasture, but there was an increase in yield with the application of pig slurry. The summer crops responded differently to...

Growth, production and nutrients in coriander cultivated with biofertilizer Horticultura Brasileira
Cardoso,Marinice O; Berni,Rodrigo F; Antonio,Isaac C; Kano,Cristiaini.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of doses of a biofertilizer, formulated with a mix of plants (BMV), on the growth, production and nutrients in coriander cultivar Verdão. The BMV was prepared with crushed parts of the species Flemingia macrophylla, Musa sp. and Azolla sp. The trial was carried out in a greenhouse, in Yellow Argissol, with medium texture (V= 36.4%). The experimental design was of randomized blocks with six replicates. Besides BMV doses (0, 5, 10, 15 and 30%, in water), an additional treatment with bovine manure biofertilizer was added (10% in water). Inorganic ingredients blended into biofertilizers as chicken manure were incorporated in soil of growing-beds. The evaluated traits responded to BMV doses linearly. A...

Initial analysis of the Eucalyptus super clone fertilized with swine wastewater sludge PFB - Pesquisa Florestal Brasileira
Paula Ribeiro, Elaino; Luiz Magalhães, Joiran; Almeida Rodrigues, Arthur; Almeida Rodrigues, Douglas; Alves Frazão, Marcelo; Lino Rodrigues, Cássia.
The generation of waste has gradually increased due to the large swine production and with this comes the concern about the final destination of the product. This study aimed to analyze the initial behavior of Eucalyptus super clone (AEC 1528), fertilized with swine sludge and compared to chemical fertilizer. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replications, with the volumes: 1.25, 2.5, 5 liters; 0 liters of sewage sludge and chemical fertilizer. The plants were irrigated with water from a well at the Rio Verde University, increasing the amount according to plant growth. After 120 days, we evaluated the height of the plants, stem diameter, relation between stem diameterand plantsheight, weight of the fresh...

Morphogenesis of the giant missionary grass in response to pig slurry fertilization Ciência Rural
Zabot,Valdirene; Scheffer-Basso,Simone Meredith; Miranda,Mario; Kotwittz,Daiane Karla; Brustolin,Karen Doering.
The morphogenesis of giant missionary grass (Axonopus jesuticus x A. scoparius) was evaluated in this study in response to the application of 0, 40, 80, 120, 160, and 200m³ ha-1year-1 of pig slurry, calculated to provide 0, 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500kg N ha-1year-1, respectively. The experiment was carried out in the field, at Chapecó, Santa Catarina, Brazil, in 2010-2011. The doses were fractioned in four applications, performed after the pasture cuttings, during the growth season of the grass. Morphogenetic evaluations were performed weekly between 10/26/2010 and 12/07/2010 (spring), 12/14/2010 and 01/11/2011 (late spring/early summer), 01/18/2011 and 02/07/2011 (summer), and 02/15/2011 and 03/21/2011 (late summer). The leaf senescence, leaf elongation,...

Nitrogen applied in okra under non-tightness grown and residual fertilization Horticultura Brasileira
Cardoso,Marinice O; Berni,Rodrigo F.
The aim of this study was to evaluate, in the Amazonian rainy season, the effect of nitrogen applied in okra under non-tightness grown and residual fertilization. The trial was carried out in the Embrapa Amazonia Ocidental, in Iranduba, Amazonas state, Brazil, between October/2010 and February/2011, in dystrophic Yellow Argisoil, medium texture, using pits with residual fertility. The experimental design was of randomized blocks with four repetitions (two lines with four plants, spacing of 1.5x1.0 m) and four main treatments (urea: 0.0; 20.0; 40.0 and 60.0 g plant-1 corresponding to 0.0; 60.0; 120.0 and 180.0 kg ha-1 of N, respectively, in two portions) using cv Dardo. Besides two additional treatments: chicken manure (1.0 L pit-1, with the cv Dardo) and...

Anna Saimaneerat; Sukum Chotechaungnanirat; Pojjanee Supamongkol.
Objective of this experiment was to use seed cake of Jatropha as the organic fertilizer for sweet corn production. Property of fresh seed cake of Jatropha was pH 6.6, EC 1.77 dS/m, total N 3.55 percent, total P2O5 1.47 percent, total K2O 1.39 percent, total Ca 0.68 percent, and total Mg 0.64 percent. Plot research was conducted at the National Corn and Sorghum Research Center. The experiment was repeated in 6 crop seasons in 2007-2009. Randomized complete block design was laid out, with four replications and six treatments. The six treatments were chemical fertilizer application at the recommendation, cow manure application (2500 kg/rai), Jatropha seed cake application (620, 800, and 1000 kg/rai), and no fertilizer application. The combined analysis of the...
